What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had creases, small tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds, with small paper loss at some crossfolds. There were some smudges in the yellow background areas and pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but at some point after it was backed, it acquired a 3" tear in the left of the top border (solely in the poster and not in the linen), that extends into the top of Louis' hair (any restorer could mend this without re-backing the poster).
