An Unfolded Die-Cut Special Theatrical Poster (measures 14" x 21 3/4" [36 x 55 cm]) (Learn More)

Blackface Display, the 1920s poster showing a stereotyped blackface head on a shirt front. Note that the shirt front is blank and can have theater information added. Our consignor obtained the poster from a man who said it was found in a very old vaudeville theater, but he knows nothing else about it beyond that. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that our consignor had two examples of this poster, and two examples of a similar poster, both from the 1920s, and both with blackface displays. In January 2017, we auctioned one of each for that consignor, and they sold for $80. Now he has sent us his remaining two examples, and he has asked us to auction them separately. One of them is in this auction, and the other is in a separate auction. Note that this poster is printed on a heavier weight paper stock, similar to that of window cards of this time period. It cannot be rolled and sent in a tube, so it will need to be sent in a large flat package.

Condition: very good.
