An Original Vintage Theatrical German Movie Herald (measures 3 1/4" x 7 1/2" [8 x 19 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

Sanders of the River (released in some countries as "Bosambo", which was Robeson's character name; see below), the 1935 Zoltan Korda English Nigeria Africa jungle safari adventure thriller ("From the great story by Edgar Wallace") starring Paul Robeson (as Bosambo), Leslie Banks (in the title role as Commissioner R.G. Sanders), Nina Mae McKinney, Robert Cochran, Robert Walker, "and a cast of thousands". Note that when this movie was released in the U.S. and England, it was called "Sanders of the River", and all the advertising greatly downplayed Paul Robeson, who played Bosambo, and was actually the star of the movie. When it was released in other countries, it was called "Bosambo", and all the advertising centered around Robeson in jungle native garb! Note that the Robert Walker credited above was NOT the Robert Walker who starred in the 1940s and 1950s, but a different Robert Walker who started making movies in 1913, and he appeared in an amazing 255 movies through 1953, a 40 year span, but most of those were westerns, and a lot of them were very minor roles, often uncredited.

Important Added Info: Note that this is an incredibly rare German herald from World War II or earlier. Virtually none of these heralds survive from any movie, surely because of Germany's massive paper shortages during World War II! Also note that this German herald measures 3 1/4" x 7 1/2" [8 x 19 cm].

Condition: very good to fine.
