An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Arizona Kid, the 1939 Joseph Kane singing cowboy western starring Roy Rogers, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Sally March, Stuart Hamblen, Dorothy Sebastian, and Trigger (uncredited). Note that Roy Rogers first appeared under that name in 1938 in Under Western Stars, and he was an immediate giant hit, and he made many movies over the next couple of years, and this one has one of the best images of Roy of any of the 1930s movies he appeared in! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: poor. The borders of the poster had been trimmed off and there were pinholes, tears, smudges, and stains throughout the image. Overall, the poster was in poor condition prior to linenbacking. Some amateur restorer did the best they could, mounting the trimmed poster on a 22" x 28" piece of linen, and simply painting over the missing "borders" (to simulate borders, but they were not added). They then put a fair amount of paint throughout the poster (especially in Rogers' face), but it is debatable whether they improved the poster. You can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have further restoration performed. Learn More about condition grades
