A Vintage Hardcover Book (measures 8 3/4" x 11 1/4" [22 x 29 cm]; 208 pages) (Learn More) Daily Express Film Book, the 1935 English movie book featuring information on and hundreds of black and white and full color images of many movie stars of that era including Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, James Cagney, Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, and many more! This is one of many similar hardcover books that were published in England in the late 1920s and early 1930s, and each is a wonderful treasure trove for film buffs, not only for the great portraits of stars, but also for the many articles about stars and then-current movies, which often contains information found nowhere else. Note that this particular volume contains several color portraits scattered throughout, and has a really cool 5-page article entitled "How the Silly Symphonies Are Made", with a great full-page portrait of Walt Disney, and many images from the Silly Symphonies cartoons, including three with the really early version of Donald Duck.
