An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Style C One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Strike Up the Band, the 1940 Busby Berkeley romantic teenage juvenile musical comedy ("The merriest pair on the screen in a great new musical show!") starring Mickey Rooney, Judy Garland, Paul Whiteman and Orchestra, June Preisser, and William Tracy. Note that this was one of the best of the Mickey Rooney/Judy Garland pairings, directed by Busby Berkeley, and with musical support from Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra! Also note that this movie included a surreal fantasy sequence that included fruits and vegetables coming to life, and that sequence was created by Henry Rox, and animated by George Pal (several stills from that have survived, and have been auctioned by eMoviePoster.com!). Artist: Al Hirschfeld Important Added Info: This poster has been backed onto a white paper soon after it was printed (this process is similar to "kraft-backing", but a white kraft paper is used instead of a brown one). One could have it professionally removed from the white kraft paper and linenbacked, and after proper restoration, it would look great! Condition: fair to good. There was paper loss at the crossfolds and many creases along the foldlines. There were smudges and scuffs in the white background areas and some minor border defects. After the poster was paperbacked, it received a bunch of dirt and water stains scattered throughout, but more so in the top half of the poster, and around the edges, so fortunately, the image area was not affected nearly as much. The poster DOES have many real defects, but if it is professionally removed from the paper backing and properly restored, it will look great! Learn More about condition grades
