An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

The Range Feud, the 1931 D. Ross Lederman romantic cowboy western ("Romance and Thrills!"; "Outdoor thrills and mystery!") starring Buck Jones ("The Screen's Greatest Outdoor Star!"), John Wayne, Susan Fleming (an actress who played minor roles in movies from 1931 to 1936, at which point she married Harpo Marx, and basically retired), Edward Le Saint, Will Walling, Wallace MacDonald, and Glenn Strange. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were!

Important Added Info: Note that although John Wayne received second billing on this poster, he was not yet enough of a star for the poster designers to put him on the one-sheet!

Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

good. The poster had many tiny areas of paper loss across the center of the top foldline and there was paper loss at the top crossfold extending down 1" into Jones' eye. There was also a 1/4" line of paper loss across much of the middle foldline and a lesser amount of paper loss on the bottom foldline. There was paper loss all around the borders of the poster, but almost all of it was solely in the blank borders. There were two 10" vertical tears in the top left of the image starting at the top border and running into the left side of Jones' hat. I can tell by the quality of the restoration, and the recreation of the missing artwork, that this poster was surely restored by Igor Edelman! There is no other restorer who could so beautifully recreate the missing art, and do so in such a way that you really can barely see what was done even from inches away. The poster HAS had considerable restoration (basically along the horizontal foldlines), but it was truly wonderfully done, and the poster really looks great! But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the restoration it has had.
