As a spectacular Saturday Evening Post serial is brought to the screen!"; "From the Novel by David Goodis"; about a man who was wrongfully convicted of killing his wife, and he escapes from San Quentin and then has plastic surgery to disguise his appearance, and he hitchhikes a ride with beautiful Lauren Bacall, who offers to help him find out who actually killed his wife) starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Bruce Bennett, Agnes Moorehead, Tom D'Andrea, Clifton Young, and Douglas Kennedy. Note that this was the third movie in which Humphrey Bogart co-starred with Lauren Bacall. They first met during the filming of "To Have and Have Not" in 1944, and then were married in 1945. They re-teamed for "The Big Sleep" in 1946, and then made this movie the following year. They teamed again in "Key Largo" in 1948, but they did not make another movie together after that, likely having a lot to do with their having two children. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned this insert once before, and that was 7 years ago, when it auctioned for $1,550! A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the defects described below, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still exactly looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. The restoration was done really well, and the poster displays really well! Note that while this poster technically COULD be rolled in a tube, we would hate to do that, because rolling this poster after it was so nicely restored could cause creases or other damage, so we strongly advise against rolling it. Therefore, we will only send this poster in a very large flat package, unless the new owner insists on a tube, and accepts responsibility for any damage caused by it being rolled. The poster will arrive fine and display great if it is sent in a flat package, but it will cost more to send this way, especially if the poster is being sent outside the U.S., so please only bid on this poster when you take into mind the cost of shipping it in a very large flat package. Condition: very good. The poster was gel backed (see above). This particular poster had some creases, scuffs, and fine surface paper loss on parts of the folds. It had some pinholes, small tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges, with a few pinholes scattered in the image, including one in Bogart's cheek by his mouth. It had some smudges, scuffs, and faint stains scattered throughout. The poster was gel backed by a talented professional and expert restoration was performed to the above defects. The poster looks fantastic, and it has had truly minor touch up, and best of all, it still completely looks and feels like an unrestored poster! Learn More about condition grades
