An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Savage Splendor, the 1949 Lewis Cotlow & Armand Denis Africa expedition jungle documentary ("Made in the course of the Armand Denis-Lewis Cotlow African expedition"; "WILDEST AFRICA EXPLODES -in blazing color, the first time!"; "Africa's wildest secrets in blazing color!"). Note that Armand Denis had explored Africa and India in the 1930s with his wife Leila Roosevelt, and had produced and directed many short subjects with footage of their travels that he and his wife had shot themselves. In 1948, the 52 year-old Armand Denis divorced Roosevelt, and married 34 year-old Michaela Holdsworth, and together they made four movies (very similar to those he had made with his first wife). Lewis Cotlow was an explorer, author and filmmaker who traveled to Africa, South America, Indonesia, the Arctic, Australia, and New Guinea. He was awarded the Explorers Club Medal and the Order of Magellan. His films were: Savage Splendor, Jungle Headhunters, Zanzabuku and Primitive Paradise If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
