R95 Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Art House One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More)

A Matter of Life and Death (released in the U.S. in 1947 as "Stairway to Heaven"), the classic 1946 Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger English afterlife fantasy romantic melodrama ("In New Chromatic Technicolor!"; a fascinating movie; the early scenes are in color and then, artfully, the scenes in heaven are in black and white, kind of reverse from the usage of color in The Wizard of Oz) starring David Niven, Raymond Massey, Roger Livesey, Kim Hunter, Marius Goring, and Robert Coote. Note that American Kim Hunter played a lead role in this film, and she was the first American actress to appear in an English movie after World War II ended.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster is one of a large group of "arthouse" U.S. one-sheets that came from a specific New York theater. Many of these movies ONLY played in a very limited number of theaters, and posters from these movies can be next-to-impossible to find! Also note that because many of these movies were low-budget productions without famous stars, the producers often created great eye-catching posters, knowing how much that would help the success of their movies!

Condition: very good. Note that this poster was never folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing, but a very few were left unfolded. An unfolded poster from before 1980 is almost always far more difficult to find than a folded poster of the same title, and finding unfolded posters in excellent condition is even more difficult!

1" tear in the middle of the bottom edge as well as a 1/4" tear and creases in the lower right of the poster; minor creases and scuffs throughout the poster
