Also note that this poster has had its blank borders trimmed off and it now measures 12 1/2" x 19 1/2" [32 x 50 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster has a blank area in the center on the "can's" label. Someone who gave the poster as a gift wrote an inscription in that area, and at a later time, someone else had the poster, so they put black paint over the inscription (see our image). Also, the poster was trimmed around the edges and the top corners were rounded to follow the border. The poster had pinholes around the edges and some pinholes scattered in the image, with tiny paper loss in the top right corner and a few faint stains in the blue background area at right. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer left alone the blacked over area at center, and you can also see some signs of the other defects and the restoration of those defects, and the missing parts of the borders were not replaced.
