An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Mexican Movie Poster (measures 27" x 37" [69 x 94 cm]) (Learn More) La Malquerida (literally translates to "The Unloved"), the 1949 Emilio Fernandez Mexican romantic love triangle melodrama (a widowed woman remarries, not knowing her daughter wants him as well!) starring Dolores Del Rio , Pedro Armendariz, Columba Dominguez (in the title role as Acacia), Roberto Canedo, and Julio Villareal NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Juanino Renau Berenguer Important Added Info: Note that Calderon Films was a company that co-produced films and also distributed them within the Mexican territory. Mexican movies were distributed abroad by other companies, like Columbia Pictures (which not only promoted Mexican films in the United States, but worldwide except in Mexico). This particular poster was for a Calderon release that could have been during roughly the same time period or slightly later, but we are not certain. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note also that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie! Condition: poor to fair. The poster is in much lesser condition. As can be seen in our image, the poster has either completely separated or is very close to complete separation along each of he folds and there is some paper loss along those folds. It is exceedingly fragile, and will likely require substantial restoration. Certainly a top restorer could attempt to "rescue" the poster, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the possibly substantial cost of restoration before bidding on it.
