An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

For Me and My Gal, the 1942 Busby Berkeley New York City Broadway theater stage acting romantic musical ("Greatest musical show ever to thrill your heart!"; "Screen play by Richard Sherman, Fred Finklehoffe and Sid Silvers"; "Original Story by Howard Emmett Rogers") starring Judy Garland, George Murphy, Gene Kelly, Martha Eggerth, Ben Blue, and Richard Quine. Note that this was Gene Kelly's very first movie, but because he was already a Broadway dancing star, he was given a lead role in his first time out!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets).

Condition: good. There is a tear at upper left extending into the "F" in "FOR" in the title and there is much tattering, tearing, and some paper loss in the borders and background around the edges of the poster (some with brown paper tape repairs on the back). There are remnants of a label on the back of the poster at left but they do not appear to have any effect on the front. Other than the defects around the edges, the poster is in generally nice condition and a talented restorer could restore the above defects and after proper restoration, the poster will look fantastic!
