An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Joy of Living, the 1938 Tay Garnett New York City Broadway theater stage acting romantic musical comedy ("Music by Jerome Kern"; "Lyrics by Dorothy Fields"; "Based on an Original Story by Dorothy and Herbert Fields"; about a Broadway star who supports a bunch of sponging relatives, and she meets a sea captain who wants her to retire and live with him on a South Seas island, and after she gets drunk, she marries him and goes away, but she soon misses her prior life, and she returns to it; but at the end, she realizes she belongs with her husband on that island, and she runs to his ship to sail away with him!) starring Irene Dunne, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Alice Brady, Guy Kibbee, Jean Dixon, Eric Blore, Lucille Ball, and Warren Hymer. Note that this is an almost completely forgotten 1930s musical with great music by Jerome Kern. Its plot is incredibly familiar, and it borrows heavily from many classic movies of the 1930s! This means the lobby card was backed onto a board backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original lobby card (except somewhat heavier). Prior to paperbacking, the card had some tiny paper loss, pinholes, and smudges around the edges, and some faint stains scattered in the image. Overall, the lobby card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. It appears that the card was displayed, and that it faded, and that the restoration paint did not fade, so that it is now extremely noticeable.
