Will Elder was an illustrator and comic book artist from the 1940s to the 2000s. He was a childhood friend of fellow cartoonist Harvey Kurtzman, and when Kurtzman created the Mad comic book for Bill Gaines EC Comics (E.C. Comics), Elder did much work for that magazine and also did work on other E.C. Comics. When Mad became a magazine, Elder helped Kurtzman with the first issues, but when Kurtzman left Mad, so did Elder. The pair later created "Little Annie Fanny" for Playboy magazine, which was a risque full-color multi-page comic strip that appeared for many years in Playboy. He passed away in 2008 at the age of 86.
