eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result #7743 ROY ROGERS RIDING TRIGGER standee '40s Date Sold 4/29/2003Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Original Vintage Theatrical Cardboard Movie Standee (measures 35 1/2" x 59") (Learn More) Roy Rogers (often referred to as the "King of the Cowboys") is considered one of the all-time top cowboy western actors (he started in the 1930s and worked in film until the 1950s) and was nearly always accompanied by his equally famous horse, Trigger. He had many female co-stars until he starred with Dale Evans, and they married, and remained married for over 50 years! After his movie career wound down, he and Evans had an extremely successful TV show. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 86. Condition: good to very good. If there was a standee attachment on the back of this standee, it has long been lost. There are many smudges, scuff marks, and minor stains throughout the image. They are the type that are very noticeable from close-up, but from 5 or 10 feet away they mostly are not really noticeable. There is wear and a greater number of stains around all the edges, and there is a greatest number of stains in the top 14" of the left border, where the surface paper is more heavily stained and is separating from the backing board (the standee is also slightly separating from the backing board along the top border). While I think most people could accept the defects this standee has (they make it look authentic and not like a reproduction), please do not bid on this standee unless you can accept its defects or are willing to have them professionally restored.
