An Original Vintage Linenbacked French World War I Recruiting Poster (measures 31 3/4" x 47 1/4" [81 x 120 cm]) (Learn More) Comite National de l'Education Physique et Sportive et de l'Hygiene Sociale (literally translates to "National Committee of Physical Education and Sport and Social Hygiene"), the circa 1919 French post-World War I (WWI) poster announcing a parade of 10,000 young people from the "pre-military physical training class of 1920", as well as delegations from Allied Nations and a demonstration on the evolution of tanks. Note that this poster features William Malherbe art of a young man and Marianne (a national symbol of France). Artist: William Malherbe Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had darkened. It had some separation and tiny bits of paper loss on the folds, and some pinholes and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking.
