An Original Vintage Theatrical Minstrel Show Poster (measures 20" x 26 1/2") (Learn More)

The Coon Hollow Quartette, the circa 1900s travelling blackface minstrel music show poster ("Hilson's Famous Minstrels"; "Coon Hollow Quartette") advertising the travelling minstrel show. Note that we have been unable to find any additional information about Hilson or his famous minstrels. If anyone knows more about either of these or this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been mounted onto a heavy board backing (see below).

Condition: good. The poster was mounted to a heavy backing board (it was likely dry-mounted). Before it was mounted, the poster had a 15" tear in the center of the top border and many small tears in the top border. There was a 9" tear in the upper left border, which joined the middle tear in the green coat of the man at top left, and someone had put tape on the back of both of those tears. There was a 3" tear in the middle of the left border with tape on the back of that. The person who backed the poster simply backed it as is without attempting to repair the above defects, but they are not very distracting. We have no idea how easy or difficult it would be to remove the poster from the backing board, but we would certainly think the poster could be framed and displayed exactly as it is.
