eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 1a012 BRANDED glass slide '31 great image of cowboy Buck Jones sitting on his horse Silver! Date Sold 9/6/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Style A Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Branded, the 1931 D. Ross Lederman cowboy western starring Buck Jones ("The screen's greatest outdoor star"), Ethel Kenyon, Wallace MacDonald, Philo McCullough, and Silver (Jones' horse). Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were. This was one of the few movies where Silver was billed on the posters! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some stains and smudges. Learn More about condition grades
