An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Hungarian Movie Poster (measures 37 1/4" x 49" [95 x 124 cm]) (Learn More)

Dans L'ombre du Harem (released in English-speaking countries as "In the Shadow of the Harem"), the 1928 Andre Liabel & Leon Mathot French silent romantic love triangle melodrama (about an Arab emir who thinks his beautiful secretary betrayed him to a rival, and he plans on getting revenge, but over time, he forgives her) starring Leon Mathot, Louise Lagrange, Jackie Monnier, Rene Maupre, and Andre Volbet
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster! Also note that this is an extremely rare pre-World War II Hungarian poster! Virtually no Hungarian posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in Hungary during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters!

Condition: good to very good. The poster has paper loss at lower left and there is a tear at left that extends into the art of the man at left and that was backed with a large brown label, and portions of that label slightly bleed through to the front. It has a few other more minor edge defects and some fold wear, but otherwise it is in generally nice condition, and after linenbacking it will look great!
