A Novel Affair (also released in the U.S. and England as "The Passionate Stranger"), the 1957 Muriel Box English romantic love triangle comedy ("How sophisticated can a husband be?"; "Can he wink even when he finds his wife and chauffeur between the covers?"; about a famous female novelist who writes a book about a woman much like herself, and in that book, the lady has an affair with her chauffeur, and not surprisingly, her real life chauffeur thinks she is expressing her desire for him, but to her it was only fiction; there is a special color sequence in the movie that shows the characters in the book acting out the plot, and of course, the real life characters play their book alter egos as well, so each of the lead characters is playing a dual role) starring Ralph Richardson, Margaret Leighton, Patricia Dainton, Carlo Justini, and Ada Reeve
