A 1946 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28") (Learn More)

Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, the classic 1935 Richard Boleslawski epic prisoner-on-the-run-hunted-throughout-the-years melodrama ("The greatest human story ever written becomes a screen triumph awaited by millions"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; based on the French novel by Victor Hugo, which was also the source for the long-running Broadway play; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck) starring Fredric March (as Jean Valjean), Charles Laughton (as Inspector Jalvert), Sir Cedric Hardwicke (as Bishop Bienvenu), Rochelle Hudson (as Cosette), Francis Drake (as Eponine), Florence Eldridge (as Fantine), John Beal (as Marius), Ferdinand Gottschalk (as Thenardier), Vernon Downing (as Brissac), and John Carradine. Note that there was a 1980 French musical stage play adapted from this classic book and movie, but it did not do well. In 1985, it was significantly expanded and changed into an English language play, which has gone on to become one of the most successful plays of all time, in London, on Broadway, and all over the world!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most half-sheet posters were folded once horizontally and once vertically right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded example of most half-sheets, especially from before 1970!

Condition: good to very good. There are some areas of tattering around the edges of the poster that have been repaired with brown & white tape from the back.
