One man against a city's violence ...A decade's infamy!"; "The events in this picture are not fictional and any similarity to actual persons living or dead is intentional!"; "Based on Articles by James P. Artist: De Amicis
Important Added Info: Note that Italian posters from the first few years after World War II are among the most rare posters there are, and they were almost all not the standard Italian sizes that became standard in the late 1940s (the 39x55 one-panel, the 55x78 two-panel, etc). These are likely so rare because there were still major paper shortages in Italy right after World War II, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare first release Italian poster from 1948, and it measures almost square (55 1/2" x 57 3/4"), and we have seen a few other Italian posters of this size from the 1940s, but we have never before auctioned this poster.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster had tiny paper loss at just a few crossfolds and a very few creases, scuffs, and tiny tears on parts of some folds, with some faint smudges in the solid yellow area. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
