eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result v071 BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID 8 movie lobby cards '69 Newman Date Sold 5/20/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (released in other English-speaking countries as "Butch Cassidy" and as "Butch Cassidy and the Kid"), the classic 1969 George Roy Hill (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) outlaw cowboy western ("You've never met a pair like Butch and The Kid"; "Not that it matters, but most of it is true."; "They're taking trains... They're taking banks... And they're taking one piece of baggage!"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; with a superb script by William Goldman) starring Paul Newman (in the title role as Butch Cassidy; "is Butch Cassidy"), Robert Redford (in the title role as The Sundance Kid; "The Sundance Kid is Robert Redford"), Katharine Ross ("is Etta Place"), Strother Martin, Jeff Corey (as the old sheriff), Henry Jones (as the bike salesman), Ted Cassidy (as Harvey Logan), George Furth (as Woodcock), Cloris Leachman (as Agnes), Kenneth Mars (as the Marshal), Timothy Scott (as News Carver), and Charles Dierkop (as Flat Nose Curry) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the #1 and #2 cards (the top two in our image) do no have NSS numbers at the bottom right. Normally, we would think that this would mean that they are from the 1973 re-release, because we have sold an entire 1973 re-release set in the past, and on that set, only the first card had the re-release information, and the other seven cards did not, and looked exactly like 1969 cards. HOWEVER, on this set, the first two cards do NOT have NSS info, but the other six do, and all eight cards are exactly the same in every other way, so this is an extreme mystery to me! If anyone knows more about this, please contact us, and please do not bid on this set unless you can accept the uncertainty about the #1 and #2 cards, which do not have NSS info at bottom right. Condition: very good. Four of the cards have brown paper tape on the back of two borders, but it has very little effect on the front, and otherwise, the cards are in pretty nice condition!
