A Vintage Autographed Softcover Book (measures 11 1/2" x 16" [29 x 41 cm]; 64 pages) (Learn More)

Batiste Madalena was an Italian-born artist from the 1920s to the 1960s. He is best known for his work done for the Eastman Theater from 1924 to 1928, where he painted seven posters a week! Some of his works include: Laugh, Clown, Laugh, Quo Vadis, Clothes Make the Pirate, and The Covered Wagon. He passed away in 1988 at the age of 86.
Artist: Batiste Madalena
Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Batiste Madalena! When this book was first published in 1986, there was a showing of his posters at a gallery in Beverly Hills, and Madalena appeared in person, and the book was sold, and our consignor purchased this book and Madalena signed it for him. We have auctioned several examples of this book, but this is the first time we have ever had one inscribed by the artist (he passed away two years after the book was published). Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: good to very good. There are dot stains in the white background areas of the covers and slight darkening around the edges of all pages. Otherwise, the book is in nice condition (see our images).
