Artist: Frank McCarthy Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned two examples of this poster in the past, and they have auctioned for $821 and $1,625, and both of those were only in "good to very good" condition, while this poster is in "very good to fine" condition! Also note that this "country of origin" British quad measures 30" x 40" and it says "Printed in England by Lonsdale & Bartholomew, Nottingham" in the lower right. In the past we have contacted English poster experts, and they tell us that British quad posters for this title were made in both a 30" x 40" and a 31" x 41" size and were printed on more than one kind of paper. We are certain the poster offered here is authentic, and it measures 30" x 40". What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It had tiny paper loss in the top blank corners and a few faint smudges and scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
