Artist: Saul Bass Important Added Info: Note that most of the other posters for this movie use a portion of Saul Bass' wonderful design, but (as often happened with posters Bass designed) the studio chose to "improve" on what he created, and it results in posters that have a somewhat bland overall effect. But this half-sheet has the full original Saul Bass design (basically, completely unaltered by the studio!). The window card and the six-sheet have a similar image, but it is not exactly the same, and this half-sheet uses the design most effectively (and the other style half-sheet, has a very conventional layout). Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good to very good. The poster has a tear at upper right that has been repaired with tape from the back. It has a few smudges around the edges and some smaller blank border tears and a few light scuff marks. It is otherwise in generally nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
