An Original Vintage German Exhibitor Magazine (measures 9" x 12 1/4" [23 x 31 cm]; 232 pages) (Learn More)

Dass Grosse Bilderbuch des Films (literally translates to "The Big Picture Book of the Films"), the German 1920s exhibitor magazine published by Film-Kurier from 1922 to 1927, which featured many images, articles, and information about then current and upcoming German movies and their stars. We highly doubt that many these magazines from before World War II (WWII) survive.
Artist: Julius Kupfer-Sachs
Important Added Info: Note that this is an incredibly rare German exhibitor magazine from 1921 (it has 232 pages, and resembles a "book" in appearance!). We highly doubt that hardly any of these magazines from before World War II survive, and this one is in excellent condition. Note that it has relatively few ads for then current German movies, but there are lots and lots of photos (many full page) of then current German stars and images from movies they were appearing in. There is a full-page image of Ernst Lubitsch, Paul Leni, Lothar Mendes, and many other great directors (sadly, many of them were Jewish, and only some of them made it to America, and no doubt others may have been lost during the Holocaust). The magazine has great cover art by Julius Kupfer-Sachs, who did important German movie posters at this time! Note: We have 12 images of the magazine, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 12 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2.

Condition: very good to fine. There are some creases around the edges and the pages have slightly darkened and are very slightly fragile. There is slight staining around the edges of the covers. In spite of these defects, I would say this magazine has survived in about as good condition as one could possibly hope (see our images)!
