An Original 1922 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage French Magazine (measures 7" x 9 3/4" [18 x 25 cm]) (Learn More)

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the classic 1920 John S. Roberson silent horror thriller ("By Robert Louis Stevenson") starring John Barrymore ("The Screen's Greatest Actor in a Tremendous Story of Man at His Best and Worst"; in the title roles), Martha Mansfield, Brandon Hurst, Charles Lane, and Cecil Clovelly. Note that there were several obscure silent movies based on this classic story starting in 1908. In 1920, Barrymore starred in this version, and there was a different English language version made that same year, and also a German language version, and all three movies had different casts and producers! Also note that Barrymore performed the initial transformation scene into Mr. Hyde without special effects!

Important Added Info: Note that this is the very first issue of a French magazine called "Le Film Complet" (they sure picked a great movie for their first issue!), and each issue had an adaptation of a then current movie, with an image from the movie on the cover, and many small images from the movie scattered in the interior pages. It is like the "movie edition" hardcover books that were put out in the U.S. at the same time, except that this is a 16-page magazine.

Condition: good. There was much scuffing down the spine, with separation of the front and back covers, and someone put paper tape on much of the spine. The pages have darkened. The magazine was lightly folded across the middle and across the bottom 2". In spite of these defects, the magazine can absolutely be enjoyed (and of course, the great cover can be displayed).
