An Original 1955 (from the first release of this movie in Belgium) Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 14" x 19 1/4" [36 x 49 cm]) (Learn More) Viaggio in Italia (released in the U.S. in 1955 as "Strangers"), the 1953 Roberto Rossellini Italian unhappy-married-couple romantic melodrama (about an unhappily married couple who go on a trip to Italy, and they find that it drives them even further apart) starring Ingrid Bergman, George Sanders, Anna Proclemer, Marie Mauban, Paul Muller, Leslie Daniels, and Natalia Ray. Note that this movie was unsuccessful when it was released in 1953, but in the 1960s, French critics proclaimed it a masterpiece! Finally, note that this movie was made during the period (1950-1955) when Bergman was living in exile from the U.S., because of her affair with Rossellini that produced a child, after which she moved to Italy with him and he directed her in several movies. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards).
