An Original 1934 (from the first release of this movie in Germany) Vintage Theatrical German Movie Herald (measures 6" x 8" [15 x 20 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Queen Christina, the 1933 Rouben Mamoulian Sweden royalty doomed romance romantic melodrama ("The Secret Loves of Queen Christina"; about a Swedish Queen who falls in love with a Spaniard, but is forced to marry her cousin) starring Greta Garbo (in the title role as Queen Christina; "Garbo returns"; "Triumphant return to the screen"), John Gilbert, Ian Keith, Lewis Stone, Elizabeth Young, C. Aubrey Smith, and Reginald Owen. Note that this John Gilbert sound movie, like all his sound movies, completely dispels the myth that he had a high-pitched speaking voice, which ended his career! Actually, he had a fine speaking voice, and there is much speculation as to what it was that actually ended his career, and that can be found in various places on the Internet, but it was definitely not his voice! Also, note that after making four movies in 1931, Garbo took an 18 month break before making this her next movie, and so it was advertised as her "triumphant return to the screen". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is an incredibly rare German herald (which was printed on a single sheet and then folded to create 8 "pages") from World War II or earlier. Virtually none of these heralds survive from any movie, surely because of Germany's massive paper shortages during World War II! Also note that this German herald measures 6" x 8" [15 x 20 cm].
