Popkin & Russell Rouse race relations racial tension gossip-run-wild film noir ("Bombshell...of Entertainment!"; "...a truly wonderful motion picture!"; "Suspense...that springs newborn from a completely different motion picture."; "Suspense...that comes not from stealthy footsteps in the dark nor from the sound of a creaking door."; "Suspense...that springs newborn from a completely different motion picture."; "...sooner or later you must see it!"; "I have a wife and two kids... a thing like this can ruin me!"; about a black African American child who falls into a well, and the rumors that grow about a white man who was seen with her, with the rumors swirling out of control) starring Richard Rober, Barry Kelly, Harry Morgan, Christine Larson, Tom Powers, Maidie Norman (black African American actress, who had her first credited role in this movie, but who sadly ended up playing mostly maids, due to the racial stereotypes at that time), Robert Osterloh, Ernest Anderson, and Gwendolyn Laster (who plays the 5 year-old black African American girl who falls into the well, but who was uncredited on the posters!)
