Date Sold 10/11/2007Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Unfolded World War I Military Government War Bonds Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 30") (Learn More) Third Liberty Loan, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) War Bond poster ("My daddy bought me a government bond of the Third Liberty Loan, did yours?") used to encourage people to buy government bonds, and featuring great artwork of a little girl clutching a bond to her chest (which matures in 1932!). If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. There is a long vertical tear that runs from just to the right of the girl's sleeve down the bottom of the poster. It is almost entirely in the white background, except for running through the "O" of "LOAN", and just touching the "t" of "Government". The poster was lightly folded across the middle and there are creases, tears, and some tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The long tear is easily mended, with or without linenbacking, and if the poster were to be linenbacked, it would look fantastic! Learn More about condition grades
