An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Autographed Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) The Bad and the Beautiful, the classic 1953 Vincente Minnelli behind-the-scenes-in-Hollywood California expose romantic betrayal melodrama ("The picture that's headed for the '10 Best' lists!"; "Based on a story by George Bradshaw"; "Screen Play by Charles Schnee"; very loosely based on the life of Val Lewton, and produced by John Houseman) starring Lana Turner, Kirk Douglas (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Walter Pidgeon, Dick Powell, Barry Sullivan, Gloria Grahame (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Gilbert Roland, Leo G. Carroll, Vanessa Brown, Elaine Stewart, Francis X. Bushman, and Paul Stewart. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by producer John Houseman! Our consignor met Mr. Houseman in person in 1988 at a Sundance Film Music concert, and Mr. Houseman signed it for him in person. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to be authentic. Note that this insert has a far superior image (and printing quality) to that of the one-sheet, and it is generally agreed that this is the most desired poster to own on this title! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but it has been laying flat for some time. However, this has not diminished the folds, so it can be easily re-folded and sent in a flat package, or it can be sent rolled in a tube. If the high bidder has no other purchases, we will send it in a flat package, but if they have other rolled purchases, we will send it in a tube with them. Condition: good to very good. The poster has two extra horizontal folds 1 1/2" and 2" below the regular top fold, and another extra horizontal fold 3" above the regular bottom fold. It has creases along those folds and pinholes and smudges around the edges. If I owned this poster, I would probably have it professionally paperbacked, to decrease how noticeable the above extra folds are, but of course, that will be the choice of the new owner.
