What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had areas of paper loss at several crossfolds and tears, small paper loss, some stains along several folds, and some staining scattered in the light colored areas in the bottom half of the poster. It had darkening on parts of some folds. At some point, the poster was slightly trimmed. It was in the blank borders, but it slightly affected the small writing in the bottom border. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above.
