An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 9" x 12 3/4" Movie Still (the entire display with frame measures 15" x 18 3/4" [38 x 48 cm]) (Learn More)

Fanny Brice was a Jewish singer and actress (of stage, radio and film) from the 1920s to the 1950s. Her nose job in 1923 (caused by her wanting to appear less "ethnic") prompted one of Dorothy Parker's most famous quips: "Fanny Brice cut off her nose to spite her race". She only made a few movies, and some cameo appearances, and her greatest fame came from outside the movies. She was well known for playing "Baby Snooks" in radio comedies and her life was the subject of films such as Rose of Washington Square, Funny Girl and Funny Lady. Barbra Streisand won an Oscar for her portrayal of Brice in Funny Girl, and Streisand "borrowed" most of the plot for her "The Main Event" from Be Yourself, the 1930 Fanny Brice movie! She passed away in 1951 at the age of 59.
Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Fannie Brice! Also note that this the entire framed display measures 15" x 18 3/4" [38 x 48 cm]. The part of the still that shows measures 9" x 12 1/2", but it is quite possible it is an 11" x 14" still (we don't want to open the back of the frame to determine that). There is a certificate of authenticity from "Bauman Rare Books" on the back of the frame that describes the photo (it tells that it is inscribed to composer/songwriter Lee David).

Condition: very good. The still appears to be in pretty nice condition with a few dot stains and a crease or tear in the bottom center (we don't want to remove the still from the frame to see its exact condition). The frame has a little wear around the edges.
