Important Added Info: Note that anyone who has followed auctions of stills knows that we sometimes auction "key book" stills, which were taken from books that studio has made of many stills from each movie. They were either on deluxe paper or with a linen backing, and they had an extra inch at the left or top that allowed them to be bound together into a special "key book". But many years ago, dealers acquired many of these key books from studios, and they tore them apart, so that they could sell the key book stills individually. Very, very few key books have ever stayed intact. In all our years of auctioning, we have only auctioned four complete key books. Now we have a fifth one, and it is a great one. It is from Sergio Leone's classic "Once Upon a Time in the West", and our consignor tells us it is an English key book, but there is nothing on it to distinguish it from a U.S. key book, but our consignor purchased it in the early 1980s in London, which is why he thinks it is English. The book has a hardcover binding and it contains 112 key book stills, each printed on a deluxe paper and mounted onto the fronts and backs of album pages. It contains many great images of all the principal actors. A few of the photos have red X's over them in ink, which was commonly done with images from scenes that were deleted from the movie (and our consignor tells us that he saw the movie when it opened, and those scenes were not in that version, and that they are also not in the restored version). Sir Christopher Frayling wrote a massive book on this movie, and had a Sergio Leone exhibit at the Autry Museum in California, and our consignor loaned Sir Frayling this book where it was exhibited, and it was returned to him in a special acid-free box, which is how we will send it to the winner of this auction. This is an amazing and unique collectible from this legendary spaghetti western! Note: We have 22 images of the items in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 22 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 12. Condition: very good to fine. As noted above, a few of the key book stills have red X's on them, indicating they were not used in the movie (we have pictured all the ones with red X's).
