An Original Vintage Linenbacked German Poster (measures 32 1/4" x 47 1/4" [82 x 120 cm]) (Learn More)

Arche Noah (literally translates to "Noah's Ark"), the 1927 German poster promoting an art exhibition to take place on February 19th at the Deutschen Theater in Munich, Germany. Note that this poster features wild art by Keimel. The date on the poster correlates to being from either 1921, 1927, or 1938, and we are guessing 1927, because there was a major Michael Curtiz movie made about Noah's Ark in 1928, and maybe this exhibition was connected to that in some way, and it seems unlikely that this event would have occurred in 1938, during the Nazi era (and if it had, the poster likely would have had different printer information).

Artist: Keimel
Important Added Info: Note that this German poster measures 32 1/4" x 47 1/4" [82 x 120 cm].

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had one slightly diagonal fold down the center and three horizontal folds. It had minor wear on the folds and darkening down the right blank border. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
