An Undated (probably 1920s) Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Sunnyside, the 1919 Charles Chaplin multiple reel silent comedy short ("His Third Million Dollar Comedy"; "I'll never leave my dear old farm") starring Charlie Chaplin (Charles Chaplin), Edna Purviance, Tom Wilson (a large white man who specialized in playing black roles in the early silent days when studios were reluctant to hire African Americans; he would put burnt cork on his face and skin!; he appeared in The Kid, but not in a black role), Tom Terriss, Henry Bergman, Loyal Underwood, and Tom Wood (nicknamed "Fatty")

Important Added Info: Note that 99% of collectors would assume this lobby card is from the first release of this classic movie. But in 1919 when this movie was made, First National printed "thin paper" lobby cards, and the original cards from this movie are on thin paper (and there are 9 cards in the set). There is also an 8 card set on heavier paper that is surely from an early 1920s re-release. Both of the above sets say "First National" on them. To complicate matters even more, there is still a third kind of card, also on heavier paper, but these do not say "First National", and so we assume they are surely from a different early 1920s (probably 1923) re-release (Chaplin was INCREDIBLY popular at this time, and it would make total sense that there might be two re-releases within a few years). The card offered here is from the early re-release on typical heavier paper stock, and this is from the release WITH "First National" on the cards. Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good. There are stains around the edges, but they are mostly in the blank borders. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
