An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78") (Learn More) Accattone (released in the U.S. in 1968 as "The Scrounger" and under the original title), the 1961 Pier Paolo Pasolini (his directorial debut!) Italian neo-realism pimp-and-his-prostitute romantic melodrama (about a pimp who lives off of a prostitute, but she is arrested, and he meets a beautiful innocent young female worker, and he wants to make her a prostitute as well, but he decides to try to reform and support her instead, with tragic consequences) starring Franco Citti (in the title role as Vittorio 'Accattone' Cataldi), Franca Pasut, Silvana Corsini, Paola Guidi, and Adriana Asti. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie! Also note that this Italian two-panel poster was printed in 2 sections (designed to overlap) and when combined, the poster measures 55" x 78". Note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. Condition: fair to good. There is some faint water staining scattered in parts of the poster and tears and areas of paper loss on parts of some foldlines and in the borders. Obviously this great poster has significant defects, but the poster is mostly "all there", and after linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and it will not require that much paint restoration within the image.
