An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Danish Movie Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 33 1/2" [62 x 85 cm]) (Learn More)

Der Traumende Mund (released in the U.S. in 1934 as "Melo"), the 1932 Paul Czinner French/German romantic music melodrama starring Elisabeth Bergner, Rudolf Forster, Anton Edthofer, Margarethe Hruby, and Jaro Furth. Note that star Elisabeth Bergner and director Paul Czinner were married at this time, and they were both Jewish, and they saw what was coming, and after this movie, they left Germany and she learned English, and went first to London, and then to Hollywood to act in movies. But unfortunately, she did not have much success in Hollywood, but fortunately, when she then went to Broadway, she did have great success!

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Danish poster!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had minor wear on the folds. It had pinholes in the corners and paper loss caused by rough removal of the pins. It had writing on the back of the upper center that bled through to the front in Bergner's forehead. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
