An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More)

The Yellow Cameo, the 1928 Spencer Gordon Bennet silent adventure serial ("Story and Screen Version George Arthur Gray") starring Allene Ray, Cyclone ("The New Pathe Dog Star Cyclone"), Edward Hearn, Noble Johnson, and Tom London. Note that Cyclone the Dog was a German Shepherd that was apparently intended to be Pathe's answer to Rin-Tin-Tin, but he only appeared in this movie and in "The Little Wild Girl", made the same year. We do not know why his career was so limited (perhaps he retired to "pursue other interests" or to "spend more time with his family"!). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Artist: E.U. Smith
Important Added Info: Note that first release 1928 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned three window cards and a single lobby card from this movie until we received this six-sheet!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had some tears and areas of paper loss on parts of several folds, and it had darkening and staining around the edges. It had paper loss in the lower part of the right blank border and across the bottom border, where there was also dark staining. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Some talented professional backed the poster "as is" with no restoration. They did a good job of backing, so another backer could perform additional restoration without re-backing the poster, and of course, they could limit the restoration to solely the areas within the image, since the blank borders will not show when the poster is displayed. However, please bear in mind the poster's significant defects before placing a bid.
