An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Blackmailers' Bluff, the 1921 silent crime detective mystery melodrama ("Nick Carter, The World's Greatest Detective"; "An all star cast") starring Thomas Carrigan (as Nick Carter). Note that Nick Carter was a fictional detective first created in 1886 in magazines and books. The first silent movies with the character were in 1908, and there were pulp magazine stories in the 1930s. There was a 1939 movie called "Nick Carter, Master Detective" with Walter Pidgeon in the title role. If anyone knows more about this movie or this character, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that any movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned anything from this movie until we received this glass slide! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
