An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Silk Stockings, the 1927 Wesley Ruggles silent romantic comedy ("From the play by Cyril Harcourt") starring Laura La Plante, John Harron, Otis Harlan, William Austin, and Marcella Daly. Note that you likely have never heard of male lead John Harron! He was one of ten children from an Irish family, and his older brother Robert was a silent star. But Robert died mysteriously in 1920, and John kind of "inherited" his career while still a teenager! But he didn't have the success of his older brother, although he made a number of movies in the 1920s. But the coming of sound meant his career was mostly over, although he continued in small roles. In 1939, he developed spinal meningitis, and died, and he was just 36, leaving a wife and young daughter. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have pictured the front cover, the back cover, and an interior 2-page spread from this program book. Condition: good.
