Artist: Frank McCarthy Important Added Info: Note that this is one of four James Bond one-sheets we were consigned for this auction (two from "You Only Live Twice", "Goldfinger", and "Dr. No"). We are auctioning them in four separate auctions. The same consignor also consigned 19 rolled or formerly folded James Bond posters, which we are auctioning in our auction of "rolled" one-sheets that runs from August 24 to August 31. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire rare James Bond posters, most of which are in nice condition, and none of which have been restored! Also note that there is a NSS stamp on the back of the poster that reads "You Only Live Twice 67/115 1SH. A Teaser". They also created a style B teaser that looked the same as this, but which had a large black blank area. That poster is part of a series of very unusual teaser posters that was designed to be used in succession revealing more of the poster with each stage - "First", "Then", "Next", and finally "Last" when the title was revealed. The idea was to promote the heritage of the Bond films and remind audiences that this was the 'true' Bond film (most likely due to competition from "Casino Royale"). But this style A teaser presents this great poster with none of the areas blacked out, so it is highly prized by collectors! Condition: very good to fine. The poster has the tiniest of separation at the top and bottom crossfolds. It has slightly diagonal faint creases to the right of the top and bottom crossfolds (above and below, extending several inches in each direction). Otherwise, the poster is in excellent condition. These defects are extremely minor! The poster can be displayed exactly as it is, or certainly, it would be the simplest of linenbackings. Learn More about condition grades
