An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Dugan of the Dugouts, the 1928 Robert Ray silent World War I (WWI) military slapstick comedy ("A spectacular war comedy"; about a young man who goes into the military because of his girl, and he has a tough sergeant who turns out to be a spy for the enemy; there is a sequence where the enemy on the battlefield gets exposed to laughing gas, which lets the allied soldiers carry them off while they are laughing!) starring Pauline Garon, Danny O'Shea (in the title role as Danny Dugan), Ernest Hilliard, J.P. McGowan, Alice Knowland, Sid Smith, and Arthur Thalasso. Note how times have changed. When this movie was reviewed in "Variety" in 1928, the star, who was called "Danny Dugan" was referred to as "the mick hero"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. The slide is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
