An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Hungarian Movie Poster (measures 37 1/4" x 49 1/2" [95 x 126 cm]) (Learn More) Fraulein Chauffeur (released in English-speaking countries as "Miss Chauffeur"), the 1928 Jaap Speyer German silent riches-to-rags romantic comedy (about the daughter of a rich German banker who lives a life of luxury, but then her father goes broke, and since she loves car racing, she disguises herself as a man and applies for a job as the driver for a doctor, and she gets it, but she has to share a room with the gardener, and there are other problems too, but everything works out in the end) starring Mady Christians, Johannes Riemann, Lotte Lorring, Hilde Maroff, and Fritz Kampers NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster! Also note that this is an extremely rare pre-World War II Hungarian poster! Virtually no Hungarian posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in Hungary during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters! Condition: good. The poster has slight discoloration scattered in some areas from exposure to moisture (more so in the red areas at upper center and there are some drip stains on back). There is a label and a stamp on back at center that slightly bleed through to the front and there is some tape on back at right. It has some minor blank border defects and some general fold wear. Otherwise the very rare pre-World War II poster has survived in relatively good condition, and after linenbacking it would be preserved and display quite well. Learn More about condition grades
