An Original Vintage German Exhibitor Magazine (measures 9" x 11 3/4" [23 x 30 cm]; 200 pages) (Learn More) Dass Grosse Bilderbuch des Films (literally translates to "The Big Picture Book of the Films"), the German 1920s exhibitor magazine published by Film-Kurier from 1922 to 1927, which featured many images, articles, and information about then current and upcoming German movies and their stars. We highly doubt that many these magazines from before World War II (WWII) survive. Artist: Weber F. Important Added Info: Note that this is an incredibly rare German exhibitor magazine from 1928 (it has 200 pages, and resembles a "book" in appearance!). We highly doubt that hardly any of these magazines from before World War II survive, and this one is in excellent condition. Note that it has relatively few ads for then current German movies, but there are lots and lots of photos (many full page) of then current German stars and images from movies they were appearing in (including "The Strange Case of Captain Ramper" starring Paul Wegener). There is a 60-page gallery of then current stars and directors, with a pretty even mix of German and U.S. actors and directors, and every one gets a full-page image (including Fitz Lang, D.W. Griffith, Charlie Chaplin, Tom Mix, Conrad Veidt, and many more). There is a great 14-page section on Universal Pictures at the back of the magazine, which includes full-page images of Carl Laemmle and Carl Laemmle Jr., plus many pages on Universal City and a full-page image showing Oswald the Rabbit and Buster Brown. The magazine has great cover art by Weber of a sexy blonde superimposed over images from movies including Chaplin, Jannings, and Fairbanks. Condition: good to very good. There are stains on the front and back covers. The pages have slightly darkened and are very slightly fragile. The magazine can totally be looked at and enjoyed, and I doubt there are other examples in better condition (if there are any others!). Learn More about condition grades
