The Iron Duke, the 1934 (released in the U.S. in 1935) Victor Saville English historical biographical politics melodrama ("You'll carry out my orders this very night!"; "Napoleon's Master... with the troops -with the ladies."; a fictionalized biography of the Duke of Wellington, who, after defeating Napoleon at Waterloo, became Prime Minister of England) starring George Arliss (in the title role as the Duke of Wellington), Elaine Terriss, A.E. Matthews, Gladys Cooper, and Alan Aynesworth

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this first release U.S. half-sheet! Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Finally, note that because this half-sheet was printed on a slightly heavier paper, it makes far more sense for it to be sent in a large flat package than rolled in a tube, because we are afraid that rolling it could cause damage to it, and we would hate for that to happen! We will only send it rolled in a tube if the buyer insists, and accepts full responsibility in case there is any damage to it.

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a 1" tear in the middle of the left border that has tape on the back and a 1" tear in the lower right border that was not repaired. It has tiny paper loss in three blank corners and a few minor creases scattered in the image.
