An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Presskit (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; contains 35 supplements, 22 stills & 1 comic book) (Learn More)

Alien, the classic 1979 Ridley Scott English/U.S. science fiction (sci-fi) space monster horror action thriller ("In space no one can hear you scream."; "a word of warning..."; "Story by Dan O'Bannon & Ronald Shusett") starring Tom Skerritt (as Dallas), Sigourney Weaver (as Ripley), Veronica Cartwright (as Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (as Brett), John Hurt (as Kane), Ian Holm (as Ash), Yaphet Kotto ("as Parker"), and Bolaji Badejo (in the title role as the Alien). Note that fantasy artist H.R. Giger did the wonderful art that was used to create the alien and the alien planet, but his art was not used on any of the regular posters, only on special prints created after the movie became a hit!

Artist: Steve Frankfurt & Philip Gips
Important Added Info: Note that this is a pretty amazing presskit. It contains the printed folder with the classic image on the cover and 22 stills, but it also contains 35 supplements, all of which are from the office of Bob Dingilian, who was Vice President for Promotion and Publicity at 20th Century-Fox (and he had held the same office two years earlier when similar supplements were created with the very first Star Wars presskit). We don't know that anyone has seen all of these supplements (which includes an 18-page "production information guide") before! Also included is a "screening program" which is 4 pages on quality stock which has the same image as the cover of the presskit and all the cast and crew credits inside. There is also an example of the Heavy Metal softcover book, "Alien: The Illustrated Story". MOST INTERESTINGLY, THERE IS A PERSONAL LETTER FROM NICO JACOBELLIS, WHO WAS WITH 20TH CENTURY-FOX PUBLICITY, TO NEVART APIKIAN, WHO WAS A MOVIE REVIEWER FOR THE SYRACUSE POST STANDARD, that says that it is confirmed that Fox is paying for Nevart to be flown to their premiere of Alien at the Loews New York Twin in New York City on May 17, 1979, and that they have enclosed airline tickets and that a limo will be waiting for her at the airport. The airline tickets are no longer present, but one of the tickets to the premiere is still present! The presskit was sent in an envelope with a printed 20th Century-Fox label glued onto it and there is a Post Office meter tape that has "STAR WARS" printed on it! It is important to note that several of the supplements have areas underlined or noted on the fronts and some of the supplements have long handwritten information on the backs by Ms. Apikian, from when she conducted telephone interviews with people connected to the movie! We have never seen this wonderful presskit before, and even if another example exists with all these contents, they would not of course have the letter, the premiere ticket, or the many handwritten notes! REMEMBER TO LOOK AT THE TOP OF THIS AUCTION TO SEE HOW MANY STILLS ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS PRESSKIT, BECAUSE WE NEVER PICTURE MORE THAN EIGHT OF THEM (and we pretty much picked eight stills at random).

Condition: very good. The stills are in nice condition. The screening program is creased and rippled. The softcover book has minor wear. The supplements have the handwritten notes as described above, but we consider this a significant addition and not in any way a defect. The letter and premiere ticket are in really nice condition!
